Curtis Mattson has been breeding Simmental cattle on his farm near Meacham, Saskatchewan since 1972.

In 1985, Curtis A.I.’ed to a Full Fleckvieh bull named Antonius and was impressed with the results. He wanted to get away from the “racehorse” types that were common at that time, and has been using Full Fleckvieh bulls ever since.

The Mattson farm is a Century Family Farm, having been homesteaded in 1907 by Curtis’ grandfather. In addition to raising Simmentals, Curtis also has experience raising Paint horses, sheep, pigs, and a variety of birds including Muscovy ducks and Araucana hens. Curtis has been involved with 4-H throughout his life. He was a Light Horse leader for many years, and still sponsors awards at local Achievement Days.
